From 17 to 21 August 2026, members of our chair participated in the ISIR Conference in Budapest with three presentations: Patrick Helm presented “Hard Constraints, Smooth Gradients: Learning Feasible Policies in General Inventory Networks via Differentiable Projection,” Till Krieger presented “Dynamic Assortment Optimization for Products with Low, Non-Stationary and Partially Observable Demand,” and Stefan Minner presented “When AI Agents Compete for Capacity: Allocation Mechanisms and Emergent Equilibria.”

Patrick Helm and Till Krieger were both selected as finalists for the Best Student Paper Award after competing against numerous submissions. In the three-paper final, the Best Student Paper Award was ultimately won by Joost van der Haar from KU Leuven with his paper “Optimal Feature-Based Newsvendor Policies under Censored and Feature-Driven Demand.”
