The INFORMS Transportation Science and Logistics Conference brought the TSL research community to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, USA.

At the conference, Nicolas Kuttruff presented “Heterogeneous Fleet Routing under Environmental Budget Constraints”, co-authored with Jan Fabian Ehmke and Stefan Minner. The research develops a decomposition-based matheuristic combining customer clustering, route generation with load-dependent energy models, and set partitioning. An adaptive multi-armed bandit mechanism dynamically selects search strategies for routing mixed diesel and electric vehicle fleets under environmental constraints.

The well-organized conference featured engaging keynote presentations from academia and industry and offered excellent opportunities for networking and exchanging ideas with the international research community. A memorable highlight was the gala dinner aboard a cruise, accompanied by impressive views of Boston.
