We are welcoming you at the Chair of Operations Management, led by Prof. Dr. Rainer Kolisch. The teaching and research at the chair is centering on the application of Operations Research methods for analyzing and optimizing Operations Management problems. Current research topics are Scheduling, Routing, Health Care Operations, Airport Operations, Project Scheduling and Management, as well as Make-to-Order and Engineer-to-Order Operations.

The INFORMS TIME section brings together academics and professionals at the forefront of technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship. It is part of INFORMS, the world’s leading organisation in management and business analytics.

In the paper, which is accepted for publication by Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, we show: People spend too much time on early tasks when they are free to progress at their pace. Agile sprints mitigate this effect.
