Tobias Lieberum wins POMS Paper Competition

Top News |

Tobias Lieberum, PhD student at the Chair of Operations Management, has won the 2022 Junior Scholar Paper Competition of the College of Behavior in Operations Management (CBOM) of the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS) for the paper “Should We All Work in Sprints? How Agile Project Management Improves Performance”. In this research, Tobias shows that in projects people spend too much time on early tasks when they are free to progress at their pace. Agile sprints mitigate this effect.  With his paper, Tobias prevailed over contributions from scholars at Georgia Tech, UT Dallas, and the University of Alberta. For more information on the competition see https://www.poms.org/colleges/chbom/

. The full paper, co-authored by Sebastian Schiffels of Lancaster University Management School and Rainer Kolisch of the TUM School of Management has been published in Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, see pubsonline.informs.org/doi/abs/10.1287/msom.2022.1091.
