Chair of Operations Management

We are welcoming you at the Chair of Operations Management, led by Prof. Dr. Rainer Kolisch. The teaching and research at the chair is centering on the application of Operations Research methods for analyzing and optimizing Operations Management problems. Current research topics are Scheduling, Routing, Health Care Operations, Airport Operations, Project Scheduling and Management, as well as Make-to-Order and Engineer-to-Order Operations.

Jointly with his co-authors Jens Bauer, Elisa Kösel, Andreas Henkel, and Christoph Spinner from the University Hospital of the Technical University Munich Prof. Kolisch has published the paper "Integrated care concepts and multidisciplinary process chains in a radiological context" in the German Journal "Der Radiologe". In the paper the authors discuss the use of decision support systems and operations research methods for patient-centered and cost-efficient care concepts in hospitals. The objectives are improved resource utilization, reduced patient waiting times and a shortening of the length of stay.
