Chair of Operations Management

We are welcoming you at the Chair of Operations Management, led by Prof. Dr. Rainer Kolisch. The teaching and research at the chair is centering on the application of Operations Research methods for analyzing and optimizing Operations Management problems. Current research topics are Scheduling, Routing, Health Care Operations, Airport Operations, Project Scheduling and Management, as well as Make-to-Order and Engineer-to-Order Operations.

PhD Students present at QBWL Workshop

Members of our chair participated in this year's Workshop for Quantitative Approaches in Management (QBWL) at the Seminarzentrum Loccum near Hannover. About 80 PhD students, postdocs and professors from German universities attended the workshop and 28 presentations were given. From our chair the following talks were given: "Quantifying the Potential for CO2-Reduction by Aircraft Sharing and Passenger Bundling between Airlines" by Yiwen Zhu, "Production Planning of Modular Products in Configure-to-Order Production" by Franziska Strobel, and "Improving Human Packing with Standardization: A Behavioral Experiment" by Christian Jost.
