Chair of Operations Management

We are welcoming you at the Chair of Operations Management, led by Prof. Dr. Rainer Kolisch. The teaching and research at the chair is centering on the application of Operations Research methods for analyzing and optimizing Operations Management problems. Current research topics are Scheduling, Routing, Health Care Operations, Airport Operations, Project Scheduling and Management, as well as Make-to-Order and Engineer-to-Order Operations.

PhD Students present at the GPOM Workshop

The members of our chair took part at this semester’s Workshop of the Graduate Program on Operations Management (GPOM), which was held on January 26 at the Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt. The PhD-students of the chair presented the following work: “Quantifying the Potential for CO2-Reduction by Aircraft Sharing and Passenger Bundling Between Airlines” by Yiwen Zhu, “Production Planning of Modular Products in Configure-to-Order Production” by Franziska Strobel, and “Scheduling Surgeries and Assigning them to Operating Blocks in a Master Surgery Schedule Environment” by Matias Kohn. The next workshop will take place in the summer semester and will be organized by our chair at the Technical University of Munich to mark its 20th anniversary.
