Project Studies
Our chair offers project studies for students of the programs "Bachelor in Management & Technology" (TUM-BWL) and "Master in Management (Track 1)" (TUM-WIN). Please review your "Fachprüfungs- und Studienordnung" (FPSO) for general guidelines. The application process for project studies is described below. For further questions regarding project studies at our chair, please contact Dr. Saeedeh Ahmadi Basir.
Requirements
We prefer students who successfully took courses in the area of operations & supply chain management (OSCM). We recommend you to take courses in this area equivalent to 12 ECTS before starting the project study. We assume that the contents of the course "Modeling, Optimization and Simulation in Operations Management" are known. In addition, you need to hand in the following documents:
- CV
- Transcript of records
- High school diploma
If you are interested in doing your project study at our chair, please refrain from contacting us in advance and hand in a complete application instead. We are only able to decide about your application based on all of the listed documents.
Application Process
If you would like to apply for an open topic, please directly contact the supervisor via e-mail. Specific requirements are found in the project description. Make sure to include all the documents listed above. Applications are possible up to four weeks in advance of the announced start date. Usually, we cannot consider earlier applications.
If you have an own topic proposal in cooperation with a company, please check first which chair of the operations & supply chain management department fits your idea best. Please prepare a one-page exposé after consulting with your partner company. The exposé should specify (1) your research question, (2) how you plan to answer your research question, and (3) what the targets of your project are. Please e-mail the exposé in addition to the documents listed above to Dr. Saeedeh Ahmadi Basir. Be aware that you need to hand in your application at least four weeks prior to your desired start date.
If there are no open topics at the moment, you may still send your application to Dr. Saeedeh Ahmadi Basir. As soon as a suitable topic comes up, we will get back to you to discuss a possible fit.
