Seminar: Classics of Mathematical Programming/Landmark Results in Optimization
Lecturers
Prof. Dr. Andreas S. Schulz, Felix Happach, Marcus Kaiser
Brief Description
This seminar will cover landmark results in mathematical optimization that have had lasting impact on the fields of discrete and combinatorial optimization. In addition to understanding the involved methodology, we aim for insights into the historical development of the field. This is an interdisciplinary seminar between students of mathematics and management sciences.
- All presentations have to be given in English.
- Students will be grouped in interdisciplinary pairs of two and each group will be assigned one topic.
- The total presentation time of each group should be 55 - 60 minutes (split equally among the group members) with additional 10 minutes for discussion.
- All presentations will be scheduled on Tue June 19, approx. 9:00 to 16:00.
