Chair of Operations Management

We are welcoming you at the Chair of Operations Management, led by Prof. Dr. Rainer Kolisch. The teaching and research at the chair is centering on the application of Operations Research methods for analyzing and optimizing Operations Management problems. Current research topics are Scheduling, Routing, Health Care Operations, Airport Operations, Project Scheduling and Management, as well as Make-to-Order and Engineer-to-Order Operations.

Niklas Huppmann, co-founder of Shades of Love, gave a practice talk in this semester’s seminar on Humanitarian Operations. Shades of Love is the world's leading non-profit organization for eyesight protection. Shades of Love collects new and used sunglasses and distributes them in remote high mountain regions such as the Himalaya and the Andes in order to prevent people in these regions from eye diseases due to ultraviolet radiation.
