Faurecia, LOG-SCM, and ECP to collaborate on Manufacturing and Logistics Excellence in the Automotives

Faurecia (world's sixth-largest automotive equipment supplier), LOG-SCM, and ECP collaborate on manufacturing and logistics excellence: to promote research, teaching and knowledge-sharing and thus leveraging expertise in the automotive industry. Prof. Dr. Rainer Kolisch, Vice-Dean Studies and International Affairs, TUM School of Management, kicked-off the meeting by giving an overview of the history and achievements of TUM School of Management. He congratulated Faurecia, LOG-SCM, and ECP to the new cooperation and wishes every sucess.

The cooperation set up with TUM and ECP is part of a partnership strategy that Faurecia has been actively pursuing for the past years alongside leading engineering schools and research institutes - explains Faurecia's Group Technology Strategy VP, Christophe Aufrère.

Prof. Dr. Jean-Claude Bocquet, Director LGI, École Centrale Paris, illustrated the scientific ambition of his institution, that is "to control the design and the management of complex system". He continued to introduce his "pluri-disciplinary and laboratory teams" and research directions. The new cooperation brings together a number of excellent research groups.

Prof. Dr. Stefan Minner kicked-off the academic part of the meeting by presenting about his Logistics & Supply Chain Management Group (LOG-SCM) and highlighting outcomes of key research projects. Then, an ever-growing challenge for automobile companies was discussed by Dr. Thomas Stäblein (TUM School of Management): How much product variety is really demanded in the marketplace?
