On September 24 / 25, LOG-SCM organized the Automotive Workshop 2015, where professors, post-docs and PhD students from various German Production and Logistics chairs met in order to discuss automotive-relevant research topics. During the first day, the participants had the opportunity to visit the BMW plant in Munich, where the BMW 3 and 4 series are produced. The tour offered insights into all areas of automobile production including the press shop, body shop, paint shop, the production of interior equipment and seats as well as the final assembly. On the second workshop day several PhD students presented their latest automotive-related research results in front of audience from academia and industry. The topics ranged between ramp-up planning, assembly line design and the relocation problem of car-sharing vehicles. Interested in more details?
