New research projects for the industry of the future

Industrial production, advanced materials, artificial intelligence for the industry of the future, industrial supply chains, and additive manufacturing – all these topics will be researched within the German-French Academy for the Industry of the Future. The Academy has now launched a new wave of ambitious joint research projects led by the Institut Mines-Télécom (IMT) and the Technical University of Munich (TUM).

After a workshop day in Paris in July between researchers from IMT and TUM, the Academy received promising research proposals on topics for the industry of the future. Six of them were successful and selected by a scientific jury: They will be funded by the Academy in order to powerfully kick-off with the initial start-up phase of the German-French platform. Accelerating digital transformation.

The main goal of the German-French Academy for the Industry of the Future is to support and accelerate the digital transformation of the French and German industrial fabric. With the new research projects, the German-French Academy is expanding its field of expertise and developing new solutions on strategic topics for the Industry of the Future. After the launch of the new projects, the Academy now covers a community of more than one hundred researchers from both countries and twenty industrial partners who cooperate in eleven research projects.
