Suri Liu, a visiting PhD student at our chair, participated in the MIP Workshop 2025 Computational Competition under the supervision of Prof. Stefan Minner. Their work received Honorable Mention at the MIP workshop 2025 in Minnesota, USA.
The Mixed Integer Programming (MIP) Workshop is a single-track workshop highlighting the latest trends in integer programming and discrete optimization.
The submitted work is entitled “A Classification-and-Relaxation Method for Solving Quadratic Mixed Integer Programming”. This work proposes a framework for solving Quadratic Mixed Integer Programming (QMIP) relying on a set of heuristics. The proposed method successfully solves 63 out of 95 instances provided by the competition and outperforms Gurobi on 23 instances in terms of the primal integral.
