Szymon Albinski and Katharina Mariel win IWA awards 2016

Szymon Albinski receives the OptWare 2016 special price from Prof. Dr. Armin Scholl, Prof. Dr. Johannes Ruhland (both Jena university) and Dr. Jörg Breidbach (OptWare).

The doctoral candidates Szymon Albinski and Katharina Mariel, both supervised by Prof. Dr. Stefan Minner, were honoured by IWA Jena e.V. for their practice-oriented theses.
Szymon Albinski, research assistant at the Chair of Logistics and Supply Chain Management, was awarded the OptWare 2016 special prize for his Master’s Thesis "A branch-and-cut method for the Vehicle Relocation Problem in the One-Way Car-Sharing".
Katharina Mariel, working at a leading European truck manufacturer, was awarded the IWA price for her publication “Strategic capacity planning in automotive production networks under duties and duty drawbacks” (together with Stefan Minner). The price winners presented their work at the second IWA symposium “Theory meets practice” in Jena, where they also received their prices.

IWA (Intitiative Wissenschaft und Automobilindustrie) is an association of scientists (Nils Boysen, Johannes Ruhland, Armin Scholl) from Jena university and car manufacturing and high-tech companies (Volkswagen, Airbus, MTM, OptWare, Satair, Siemens). The association honours excellent theses that help to bridge the gap between the automotive industry and science.  More information.
