Julius Luy

Former PhD Student

Short Biography

Julius is a Ph.D. student at the Professorship of Business Analytics & Intelligent Systems. He obtained a master’s degree in Engineering Sciences from TU Berlin and in Business Administration from Collège des Ingénieurs in Paris. He works as management consultant at McKinsey & Company. His research focuses on emerging business models in the context of city logistics, especially crowd delivery, and the optimization of parcel delivery in a highly stochastic environment by applying machine learning techniques.

In his free time Julius enjoys reading, engaging in all sorts of sports (incl. but not limited to football, fitness, hiking, jogging, squash), and playing guitar.

  • Emerging business models in city logistics, especially crowd delivery and platform economy

  • Dynamic and stochastic vehicle routing with uncertain demand and couriers

  • Machine learning applied to combinatorial optimization
