We are happy to announce that the German Research Foundation (DFG) decided to fund our project TENGOS – Transport and Epidemic Networks: Graphs, Optimization, and Simulation. Together with colleagues Christian Kuehn from the mathematics department and Rolf Moeckel from transport engineering, we will develop new methodologies that allow to couple transport network optimization and epidemic models to better understand and possibly mitigate the impact of an epidemic on transport networks and vice versa.
